Fake Bake vs. ST. MORIZ

As a girl who likes to be bronzed all year round, I've used my fair share of tanning products, ranging from wipes, gels, sprays and foams.

With Fake Bake being such a big brand you would think the product would match the name…it didn’t. The Fake Bake spray (Beyond Bronze-Airbrush Self-Tanner) was disappointing to say the least. Although the scent was somewhat refreshing, the actual tan was not. The colour did not come out as dark as I expected and pretty much disappeared after 1-2 days. If like me you like to tan your whole body DO NOT purchase this product, expect an empty can in a matter of weeks, it may look big but it does not last two minutes. (I tan 1-2 times a week).

A tanning product which a friend recommended to me was the ST.MORIZ instant self-tanning mousse (I use shade: dark). I thought, being so cheap the end result would be disastrous. To date, this product is the best I have used. It smells like soap and comes out nice and dark. I usually put it on before I go to bed, and then wash it off the next morning. You can see the excess tan wash off leaving you with beautiful bronzed skin. I do recommend using a tanning mitt as the product dries almost immediately, meaning you do have to be quick when rubbing it in.

Here are some pictures of me (right) and a friend on some nights out in Southampton. Thank you ST. MORIZ for my tan!

Double Denim- Fashion faux pas or Fashion statement?

Double denim was HUGE in the 80’s, and we all know that fashion trends tend to come back. Whilst watching an episode of Take Me Out i couldn't help but question my hatred for double denim. The young lad actually sported the look rather well, managing to make it look preppy. As well as being a hit with the ladies, this guy was a trendsetter! However, there are some trends which just should not return. For me, I hope the eyebrow shaving era is over for men, now that was just tacky.
Celebrity model Kate Moss looks as though she misplaced her mirror somewhere as I do not know whether to laugh or cry at this Mulberry outfit. The combination of the patent boots, belt and hat make her look like she is going to shovel cow poop at a farm. To my surprise this is her outfit for the 2012 London Fashion Week. FASHION FAUX PAS!

90210 star Jessica Lowndes looks more than fabulous in her take on the double denim trend. The denim skirt and jacket paired with an "underwear as outerwear" corset style top suggests that there is hope for double denim after all! FASHION STATEMENT!

VERDICT
Double Denim can be fashionable if worn properly. AVOID denim overload such as Kate Moss's outfit.
Expect to see Double Denim trending this summer!

2011- My Year in NAILS

As a typical “girly girl” I am always getting my nails done. 2011 was the year in which I had some of my favourite designs done. Here are a few of them:
FLOWER POWER
As summer was, let's face it, not that great! I opted for a bright pink to brighten up the cold days. The flowers really made the nails stand out and to my surprise, not one fell off! Since having these done i purchased some Fimo sticks online and i LOVE them. It's amazing what you can do with a touch of nail glue and a Fimo design. I am a huge fan of the flowers, but for summer 2012 i think i may go for something more fruity! Fimo's come in all designs, cartoon faces, hearts, bows, flowers, fruits and are extremely cheap and can be purchased for under a fiver, bargain!

ANIMAL MADNESS
As mentioned previously in my blog, i love anything animal print, so this next design needs no explanation.

AZTEC
I feel sorry for my nail technician, this design took over an hour to do but was well worth the wait! Eye- catching is an understatement.

CANDY STRIPE
Once again I opted for the Fimo flowers, they really set off the design.

Hope you love them as much as I do!

Safari Search

Welcome to my first ever blog!

Like many ladies around the world, I have an eye for animal print.  Animal print shoes, clothes, bags, purses, décor, you name it, I either want it or own it!
My newest endeavour was to find a zebra print duvet set for my bedroom, as with my one red “show wall” the colour clash would be intense. I searched all over the internet to find some (I have a double bed with king-size duvet) but unless you have a single bed or live in America it appears you’re pretty much out of luck.
So why is it that the UK is missing out on the animal print décor market? We are exciting…we are adventurous…and we are feisty. I plea to retailers, let us express our wild side!

One retailer came through like my very own knight in shining armour and whisked me off to the duvet of my dreams.
